Drizzy Drake’s Club Paradise comes to Chicago

Yes, sadly this was the best picture I took at the concert.

Finally, the Club Paradise tour made its stop in Chicago this past weekend! Naturally, we had to arrive in style, so we decided to get a stretch Escalade to chauffeur us out to Tinley Park (cause who really wants to drive all the way out there anyways). After a couple detours, a bathroom break and a stop at Burger King, we finally made it. Unfortunately, that meant we missed most of the opening acts, and I really wanted to catch Chicago’s own LEP. But we did arrive just as Waka Flocka was finishing his set.

The good news is that we caught J. Cole, who I love! Although, I really wish his set would’ve been longer. I felt like he only really performed a few tracks and his set went by so quick.

Regardless, the star of the show was Drake. I was excited that his set was long, and included lots of great tracks. Although I could’ve done without the 30-minute shout out to various sections of the audience (ok, maybe it wasn’t that long, but it was already late and a little too much).

And there were two surprise cameos – 2 Chainz & Chief Keef. 2 Chainz came out to do “No Lie” with Drake and Chicago’s own Chief Keef came out to do “I Don’t Like.” Even though I wish The Weeknd would’ve made a surprise appearance, the other two definitely brought the energy to the stage and excitement to the amphitheater. Check out a clip of Chief Keef’s performance on Fake Shore Drive.

I’m really liking 2 Chainz more & more, too – check out this interview with Muve Music he did at SXSW, the day of his surprise appearance at the SOBs showcase (full discloser: Muve Music & Cricket Wireless are a client):

  1. what!? No picture with the Escalade? ha, always keepin’ it classy with the cabs through drive throughs and now a stretch escalade. But who am I to talk, making the hotel shuttle go to McD’s. in my wedding gown 🙂

    • I know! I totally failed at taking photos. I feel like no one really did, but as my brother said, “You don’t think about taking photos when you’re having so much fun.” So I guess that’s a good thing!
