Dinner Party

dinner party

The other Saturday night, I forced my friends to come over in the middle of a blizzard for dinner. Hey, I wanted to have a dinner party, and I was going to have a dinner party.

dinner partyI also had some more recipes from Food & Wine I wanted to try out. My pièce de résistance was a butternut squash rosti cakes appetizer, which was a mix of shredded potatoes and squash, deep fried and served with sour cream and caviar on top. I also served up a Spanish tortilla, although it wasn’t as successful as my first attempt since I tried to flip it too early and it fell apart. It still tasted ok.

The main course was a massive serving of roasted chicken with homemade walnut pesto and pasta. But of course my favorite part was setting up the table with my million different plates. I just love mixing and matching different patterns and colors. Which you can also probably tell by my crazy-colored tablecloths.
