This may have been our most psychedelic After Dark ever, and I was definitely into it! Our last After Dark (hosted by the Evening Associates) of the year featured the Hairy Who exhibit, featuring a variety of colorful, delightfully strange, completely unique art.
The Hairy Who collective is comprised of School of the Art Institute grads, so it was especially cool to feature Chicago artists with a tie to the museum. While all the work was interesting, Jim Nutt’s plexiglass works were my favorite. A big part of what attracted me to his work was the medium itself, but I’m also generally a sucker for weird, colorful images.
Added bonus – the matching light projection graphics filling up the walls of Griffin Court.
Shout out to everyone who made it out despite the monsoon taking place during the exact hours of our event!
