Director Piotr Uzarowicz will be in the house for a post-screening Q&A during the Chicago premiere of The Officer’s Wife. You’ll have two chances to catch the movie – and the director – at the Chicago Cultural Center.

The movie deals with the Katyn massacre, which occurred in 1940 but continues to evoke strong emotions. It was to a ceremony marking the 70th anniversary of the massacre that the Polish president Lech Kaczynski and 88 other political officials were headed when their plane crashed last April.

Movie Synopsis
Upon the death of his father, a son makes a startling discovery. A forgotten safe deposit box reveals his grandmother’s memoirs, old photos of an army officer and a mysterious postcard that all link to a concealed crime: the Katyn Forest massacre. Weaving dramatic interviews with bold animation, The Officer’s Wife probes the collision of truth, justice and memory in a shrouded family tragedy.

The Officer’s Wife comes to Chicago thanks to the Polish Consulate General and the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs.
